Chilling Methyl Methacrylate

Melting Point -48 °C  (-54℉)
Boiling Point 101°C   (214℉)
Flash Point 2°C  (36℉)

Refrigeration or chilling is stabilizing.  Helps to avoid homopolymerization.

Chillers start at 4 tons and rise to levels as needed.  Chill tank cars, ISO containers.  Any steam jacketed vessel is chillable.

Operations:

  1. The water-glycol mix is pumped into the ISO container (pump running)
  2. The chiller unit is turned on
  3. The contents are cooled
  4. Turn off the chiller
  5. Turn on the compressor
  6. Chase the fluid back to the reservoir.
  7. Shut everything down.
